How To Progress Your Squat With Bodyweight Exercise

Squats are a fantastic exercise however...

what we traditionally think of as "the squat" otherwise known as the barbell back squat is not for everyone.

I encourage everyone to go through this progression to ensure that you have the proper strength of your posterior chain, primarily the glutes and hamstrings, as well as the proper mobility of the hips, knees, and ankles.

It's pretty easy to screw this one up as it's a complex compound movement.

The key is making sure the angle of your shin bones and your spine are the same and that the knees are not coming past the toes until your hips drop below the knees.

If you're interested in getting better with your squat don't hesitate to contact me or any of our athletic or personal trainers. We'll happily take a few minutes to show you the basics.
