HammerFit Athletic Club is a unique and locally owned fitness concept—based on the idea that the best equipment and classes usually appeal to different people and that no one should pay for what they aren't using!

 

In addition to state-of-the-art Hammer Strength equipment, we are proud to offer a great personal training program and an exceptional group fitness program in our Motion Studio. All classes are led by the area's most in-demand, experienced instructors. You do not have to have a membership to attend our classes.

Fortitude Training Systems  

What is FTS?

Small group training program that focuses on building strength in the body and mind. FTS is not a large class format typically seen in most gyms. While many programs today use high intensity cardio to burn calories and make you sweat, FTS emphasizes technique, quality of movement, and muscular strength. Why build strength? Strength training has many benefits you can't get from other forms of exercise including:

  1. Increased metabolism

  2. Fat loss

  3. Improved balance

  4. Better insulin sensitivity 

  5. Increase in bone density

  6. Increase in movement quality to complete day to day tasks

  7. Boost in confidence 

  8. Reduced aches and pains

  9. Higher quality of performance in other sports and activities

Lydia's Story:

When Lydia first began FTS she was unable to squat more than a quarter of the way down to the parallel. She struggled with knee pain and was hesitant to lift weights. After a couple months of training she was able to perform a full depth squat to parallel without any pain. She also had struggled with elbow tendinitis which quickly dissipated after a few weeks. Lydia has lost  inches off of her waist and hips  which has given her a great reason to buy new clothing. She is a very dedicated individual, and we can't wait to see where she goes!

Tammy's Story:

Tammy, 53, started her training with FTS after  a big "wake-up call" in the doctors office. Her cholesterol had risen  high enough that was of concern, especially in light of a family history of heart disease and stroke. Her doctor gave her some time to get her cholesterol  under control  and she did just that! In a little over five months of consistent training she was able to drop her LDL by 25 points, total cholesterol over 30 points along with losing three inches off her waist and three and a half inches off of her hips. She has also lost 12 lbs. and she continues to show up to every single class- that's dedication!
